The Tent: Where did you spend your last vacation?
I stepped outside to walk the dog at Crown Mountain Park. When I lived in New Jersey almost all of my vacations were in Colorado. I still have trouble choosing a vacation spot because I don’t want to leave the mountains. I did drive across the country, which is almost like a vacation. After a while, driving across the plains with the endless horizon, the mind simply let’s go.
The Tent: Publications or blogs you read on a daily basis.
The Tent: Items on your Bucket List.
I’ve been there and done that – climbed the Matterhorn, got a pilot’s license, was invited to the Nastar finals for telemark skiing, went skydiving so the list is getting smaller… I can add – be in a play in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The Tent: One lesson from childhood you still live by today.
To reach a large goal, set small goals. I spent many summers at a pond swing club with an incremental incentive program. The use of certain club facilities were tied to increasing swim skill levels. For instance, to jump off a dock in the shallow end, you must be able to float on your back; to enter the deep, prove you can swim 25 yds with the correct form. There was a lot of failure and retesting and learning to work towards goals.
The Tent: You would never leave home without…
Shoes. Until I lived where there is no cell service, I would have said – some sort of electronic connectivity – cell phone, laptop, iPad. Now, I appreciate heading into town electronic free. I still need shoes though.
