We’re excited to announce the launch of the new oldCape Sotheby’s Vacation Rentalswebsite! We began working with the team at oldCape Sotheby’s on a “define/design project” – a process whereby we worked together to identify key priorities, functionality requirements and the design of their new website. Once the define/design phase was completed, we moved quickly into the development phase of the project where we implemented the specified design and functionality on our Drupal-based VRWeb platform.

oldCape Sotheby’s has a wide range of clientele who span multiple ages groups. Thus the site was designed with ease-of-use being the utmost priority. Additionally, oldCape Sotheby’s was switching Property Management Software (PMS) which required extensive work with the oldCape team to ensure the data was setup strategically to achieve the desired functionality on the website. We used custom fields in Escapia to allow us to create custom functionality on the site such as: price range searching, property-specific turn-days that override global turn-days, season-specific turn-days, season-specific minimum stays, and long-term and commercial rentals.
The site features a custom design, with visually appealing and easy-to-use property pages. Additionally, the site organizes properties in several user (and search engine) friendly ways – by town, by map, by type (type = residential, long term or commercial). The homepage map includes properties grouped by major towns within Cape Cod. A user can click on a town property grouping pinpoint to go directly to a page featuring search engine friendly content about that specific town and properties available for rent within the town. Otherwise, the user can click anywhere on the map to advance to the Search by Map functionality. The Search by Map functionality maps all oldCape Sotheby’s properties and provides multiselect filters for users to quickly narrow down their results per their interests.
The oldCape Sotheby’s team was a pleasure to work with and did a fantastic job on their content and PMS configuration. We’re excited to annouce the new site and feel confident that it will help them to “Win on the Web!”
